Review
Back in 2012 the pub scene of Leeds was very different, Friends of Ham was one of the pioneers of the Craft Beer revolution, initially opening as a basement bar with the ethos of bringing quality charcuterie and drinks to the people of Leeds. It has thrived over the years and expanded into the adjoining building into the bar we know and love today.
Situated on the busy thoroughfare of New Station Street close to Leeds Railway Station it pulls in discerning drinkers and diners from miles around, ready to experience the classy continental vibe that they offer. With 14 keg lines ranging from specialist Belgian beers to craft microbreweries there's plenty on offer, just watch your serving sizes due to the ABVs and the price of premium products. They also have two cask lines for those that want something a little more traditional and sessionable.
Upstairs is open and airy, really capturing that continental bar feel, downstairs is more intimate with a speakeasy vibe and a couple of cosy corners to relax in with the chesterfield furniture.
Friends of Ham is a solid staple for us when visiting Leeds, it's always the last port of call with a 2 minute dash to the platform meaning we can enjoy as much time as possible there before the journey home. We just love the atmosphere and great range, just don't check your bank balance the next day.
