Review
Located in Sheepscar on the northern outskirts of Leeds amongst some unassuming industrial units is a wonder of ridiculous beer. The small unit which houses both the brewery and Tap Room, for the fairly recent Tartarus Brewery, is a lot more cosy and welcoming than you'd expect from the outside.
With traditional craft brewery benches and a couple of nice sofas it would be really easy to spend a good long while here sampling the 11 keg lines and numerous cans direct from the source. It's a bit hard on the pocket and possibly a little dangerous, as their raison d'etre is to make some of the strongest and most bizarre beers you could think of, but with the vast majority this works to stunning effect and thankfully most are sold as thirds. Also with 15% off takeaway cans you can stock up at home where a pint of a 12% Imperial Stout could be a lot safer, lol.
It's a bit of a walk out of the centre of Leeds but one we'll definitely be making again. It is worth noting that they only open the Tap Room at specific times each month so make sure you check their website before visiting.
