Despite supplying Yorkshire and beyond with superb beers since 2009 Ilkley Brewery has never had its own Tap Room, that is until now, 15 years down the line in 2024.
The Ilkley Tap has taken on the old Joel's Restaurant on The Grove on Ilkley high street, just across the valley from the Brewery. The Bar area is light and spacious with a clean modern contemporary feel, filling the area back from a conservatory style extension between the old Victorian buildings. With a grand selection of 8 casks and 12 possible kegs along the back wall it fully showcases the impressive range of beers and styles from the Brewery. A pint of Mary Jane for £4 is also going to keep any Yorkshireman happy. As to be expected keg is a little more but very reasonable.
Access is a little limited with steps down to the well kept modern toilets and up into the old house to the side which makes up the rest of the pub. This area again is bright and clean with a relaxing ambience. A nice spot to sit and check out their superb small range of Italian plates from their kitchen partner Stuzzi.
Service was exemplary and we were warmly welcomed along with our dogs. On a late Summer's day with the sun streaming through the windows and the small beer garden to the front bustling it was a thoroughly pleasant experience. The Ilkley Tap is certainly a great asset to Ilkley Brewery's reputation and we'll certainly be back over to visit again soon and you should too.
